Perfect Golf Swing

Your Perfect Golf Swing

If you are an avid golfer, you will understand the thrill of hitting that perfect golf swing, the urge to get to the course, driving range or putting green to help you relax. If you are not currently a player, you may question why some of these people live and breathe this game.

Imagine this: camaraderie, a work out, and fresh air all together in one game. The sweet smell of freshly mown grass on the morning wind.
Then the sweet sound of a ball that's been hit with a perfect golf swing. It's no wonder that so many choose to play golf.

However, there are various problems and difficulties which might not lend themselves to a perfect swing and will reduce your enjoyment of this fine game.

One of the most common is a golf swing which is anything but perfect! But read on, and you will discover some excellent tips to advance your game.

Finding That Perfect Golf Swing

If you're having trouble trying to find that perfect golf swing and spending a fortune on an instructor isn't an option, then keep reading and we'll see if this article will help you improve your golf swing.

First, to get any good swing in motion, relaxation is the key. Even if you already have the best motion, you still need to be more relaxed. If you pretend no one else is present, this may help. Imagine tha only you are there and there's no one to judge your game.

Or perhaps your golf grip is giving you trouble. Evaluate the different variations of golfing grips and once you choose one that feels right for you - stick with it. Discovering the best grip for you can be a case of trial and error, but you can find the best ones that help you to complement your perfect golf swing. Ok, it may take longer, but you'll be glad you did in the long run.

If you stance is weak, then you will most probably have a bad swing and a bad follow-through. But it's not difficult to get that good stance. It may just take time to it all right, moreso if you have been using that bad stance for some time. You may find it difficult to break out of the habit and move into a good swinging motion.

Obviously, when you have found your perfect golf swing, stick with it and work with it; there is always room for improvement. Maybe you're not the best golfer in your circle, but when your swing starts to work well for you and brings down your scores, will you really care about being the best in the world?

Just beating your friends and colleagues will be an achievement to be proud of.

Stop Hooking The Ball

If you have a problem hooking the ball--especially from the tee - then it will pay you to should spend some time trying to analyze why you have such a problem. It maybe the result of any number of different things.

Some golfers blame the equipment for a lack of central flight on the golf ball, which allows the ball to soar wildly onto the heavy rough or into the sand and water hazards. Hardly the definition of a perfect golf swing!

But what could be the problem if your equipment is fine?

When you are truly hooking the ball, it is generally caused when your swing comes too far from the inside out. This causes excessive spin or "hook" spin. However, this is becoming less common as most players now swing from the outside to the inside to affect a pull slice.

To correct this problem, the first thing you should do is check your stance. Your legs should be stretched out with your chin straight. This produces a good spine angle, which in turn will provide a good swing plane.

A player who has a very strong grip with his right forearm below their left and his stance closed will cause the club with a closed face to come too far inside. Fortunately, good posture and alignment can help eliminate this problem. The main thing to remember is that if you aren't hitting well, then your setup is more than likely the culprit.

Further more, you should also try to concentrate more on swinging straight down the target line. This is absolutely essential if you are trying to avoid another wild hook shot. Remember to stay calm and focused, keep your shoulders straight, and keep your golf club swing nice and short with enough power to make 200 yards seem extremely easy every time you put your ball on the green. A perfect golf swing might be nearer than you think...

How To Use The Downswing

The downswing in golf is undoubtedly one of the most critical parts of your game and must be mastered to produce that perfect golf swing.

Unfortunately the downswing has been the subject of a lot of misleading advice, leaving many golfers concerned about, and always trying to improve the backswing, even when it is the single best part of their game.

Most golfers start their downswing by turning their shoulders, which often causes them to end up swinging their clubs across the intended line of flight from out-to-in-- with their shoulders open on impact.

You must follow a straight line when making the impact with the ball and then follow through without deviating; if your club curves off, so will the golf ball - and there is then more of a chance that it will end up in the woods, and not on the rough.

When performing the downswing, you must also keep it powerful to get the furthest distance possible and maximize flight time. To achieve this, your shoulders must be square at the moment of impact - and you must follow through with your swing to ensure the ball is forced along a straight path.

One fault even pro-golfers have is reliance on the dominant right hand. When the right hand dominates the left hand as the downswing begins, control is transferred from the left hand entirely to the right. This makes the right hand throw the club head forward, over the left hand and arm, which destroys the club-line and releases the club head too early, which results in a weak out-to-in impact.

To correct this, you must retain control in the left hand and left arm throughout the backswing and downswing. This will make the right hand assume it's correct role and allow for the perfect downswing, giving you the power to hit the golf ball and guiding the ball in straight flight.

Think of how proud you'll feel when the perfect golf swing is a reality - your reality!
